This is gonna be a new topic for myself.
Mrs.Q always says I am not reporting any articles, and she doesn't satisfy the quantities of my articles.
Therefore, I am gonna create a topic. And I am a food lover, so, I am creating a topic of food.
As well as, we just got back from Melbourne; I am starting from the food in Melbourne.
This trip, Melbourne trip, is not like a normal backpacker trip.
(You guys can see the trip articles from Mrs.Q. Probably....)
because we didn't save money on food; instead, we went to not just cheap and nice eatery, also a great and kinda expensive restaurant.
And this is the first one I start from.
A fancy French restaurant in Crown casino;
A restaurant too expensive to me that I would never go inside normally.
However, they have some special offer for their lunch and dinner(Dinner only for Monday to Wednesday though).
Therefore, it made Mrs.Q and I had this chance to taste French food for the first time of both our lives.
When we just sat down, waiter brought a couple of bread and a plate of olives for us.
It seems the bread is according to how many people refers to other tables.
The olives is served with some oil, I guess it is olive oil which makes the oilve smells and tastes better.
The oilves is tasted kinda sour but really nice with bread.
However, the bread are so good, soft inside but form outside.
I really have to say, even it is not free, I would like to buy some.
The time we went was for lunch; and the special they have for lunch is 2 courses(Entree and Main) for AUD$44.50 or 3 courses(with Dessert) for AUD$50.
Mrs.Q and I both chose 3 Courses one.
So we started with
"Hot smoked chicken salad, green asparagus and goat’s curd"
and
"Carpaccio of wagyu rump, purple asparagus, shaved Ironstone cheese, herb vinaigrette"
I know, you probably not believe those white things with some brown skin are chicken but not bread.
Believe me, even now, sometimes I see the photos, I don't believe it either still.
Base on Mrs.Q's word, it tastes nothing like chicken at all.
Hey, don't get wrong way; it is compliments.
Seriously, the chicken is soft and it can be eaten with or without the source; both ways are pretty good.
The other entree, even I am not a cheese lover, I still love the taste when the beef and cheese came into my mouth together.
The soft beef and hard cheese changed their positions after 3 seconds stayed in my mouth;
the cheese started to melt and the beef didn't go away until the cheese mixed with it.
After finished entree, waiters brought mains straight the way.
Pan-fried John dory fillet with sage, hazelnuts and grilled lemon.
The fish, I think it is the best pan-fried fish I have even eaten.
It unlike other food I had tried whole day in the restaurant,
it was soft and juicy both inside and outside.
They were many kinds of tastes with the fish.
It tasted different when tasted fish only, tasted with sauce, tasted with lemon juicy, tasted with hazelnuts, tasted with vegetable, or combined all of them.
It just like you are eating many meals from same plate.
On the other side,
Roasted duck breast with caramelised witlof, pomegranate and thyme jus
The duck is unlike any duck I ever tried -- They have a crispy skin, and pink, raw body.
To be honest, I am not a fan of raw food;
but the duck, it is really nice.
Mrs.Q has yelled when everytime she shows the photo to other people, See!!! It is pink.
Yes, the pink duck with thyme jus and crispy nuts,
oh~~my~~god~~~!!!!!
It must be the best food I have tried in my life.
We finished the mains with lower screaming and non-stopped chatting; and we got dessert menu after waiters cleared up our table.
I didn't order any chocolate one because we went to try chocolate pizza that night.
So, instead, Cherry and roasted almond crumble with Kirsch parfait was my choise.
Actually, it kinda tasted wired.
I like the roasted almond part; but the cherry was too sour for the dessert.
Thus, I don't really like it.
However, the other dessert, Vanilla crème brûlée with berry compote, poppy seed sablé
The hard sugar on the top of crème brûlée, and eat with berry.
So good~~~
What is also good?? Eat with the poppy seed sablé, it makes the crème brûlée tasted even better.
By the way, we have enjoyed all the service during the meals, those waiters/waitresses are nice and smile to you.
All in all, this restaurant is really good to try.
